Child Development at WCSA is a rigorous subject promoting life skills in a dynamic and practical format. Students are engaged in learning about the development of children pre birth to five years of age developing a broad range of subject knowledge, skills and understanding.

Child Development students are expeced to embrace the philosophy behind becoming good citizens with effective parenting and to question their own future roles in society.

Child Development at WCSA aims to:

  • develop the knowledge required to prevent an unwelcome pregnancy

  •   ensure students question the validity of creating a pregnancy in certain situations

  • impart the knowledge required to raise children in a healthy, safe and stimulated environment

  • develop an understanding of how to raise children as acceptable citizens of the future

  • create students capable of analyzing, discussing and justifying their decisions
